About

The Cheyenne Mountain Aquatics Swim Team (CMA) is a is a technique-based swim team, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We welcome swimmers from ages 6 to 18. The team currently offers practice groups on a year round basis for swimmers of all levels.

We currently provide competitive youth swimming coaching, training and positive personal growth to swimmers. CMA is well respected for its tremendous technique driven developmental age group program and its well proven success and personalized focused age group programs. CMA's senior program is not only one of Colorado's finest programs, but is also well known throughout the West, by its success and consistency of developing national caliber athletes.

The CMA staff implements the latest techniques, skills and training while constantly refining their coaching skills through education, training and personal life experiences. They are all extremely passionate about the development of the individual within each swimmer. We believe strongly in encompassing the total student/athlete by incorporating education on nutrition, goal setting, time management, personal recovery, team spirit and many more skills within each level of our program.

CMA is unique in that it understands the challenges put on families and children in today's world.  We keep a family first focused approach and work with each family and athlete to keep the larger and long-term picture in mind. Not only do we value your family's needs and commitments, but we also develop a family atmosphere throughout our program. Through this approach, we develop personal relationships with our swimmers while providing support, encouragement and opportunities for personal growth and development.

CMA also believes strongly in the dryside of training. These training opportunities include strength and conditioning dryland training, personal video reviewing, one-on-one goal setting discussions and guest speakers like Olympians, USA Swimming Staff and specialists. We strongly believe in the importance of personal attention.  As each athlete is different, so must the individualized approach and training be. We believe strongly in focusing on the personal needs of each individual regardless of how fast they are.

CMA is a non-profit organization and a proud member of USA Swimming. We have been recognized in USA Swimming’s Club Recognition Program as a Level 4 club member, one of 3 in Colorado. The Club Recognition Program offers club members a working blueprint for developing strong, stable, financially sound and athletically productive organizations. A Level 4 designation by USA Swimming represents how well rounded our entire program is. USA Swimming bases their recognition on each club's board and organizational success, parent and volunteer development, coach development and education, athlete development and performance.
