Athletes Come First at Chaparral Wrestling Club

The U.S. Center for SafeSport believes every athlete should be safe, supported, and strengthened through sport. The Center works toward this vision by providing diverse training, tools, and resources to create sport settings free of abuse and misconduct.

Chaparral Wrestling Club, a Colorado affiliate of USA Wrestling, has bought into this vision in a big way. All coaches in this nonprofit club, based in Parker, Colo., are SafeSport® Trained before they ever interact with young athletes. Chaparral Wrestling always puts safety, security, and fun first, and is a great example of a youth sports organization that provides opportunities for physical, mental, emotional, and social development.

Watch this video for a firsthand account of how the Center has supported Chaparral Wrestling Club in fostering a positive environment for anyone who gets on the mat.
