So You Want to Try Ski Jumping?

Sarah Hendrickson was two-years-old the first time she put on skis. She was eight when she decided to stop watching her older brother and start ski jumping herself. By the time she was 19, she was breaking records and the laws of physics.

Sarah hits speeds up to 60 mph on her way down the ramp. If she times her takeoff perfectly, she’ll hang in the air for up to six seconds before landing downhill.

Since 1905, U.S. Ski & Snowboard has provided leadership and direction for tens of thousands of young skiers and snowboarders, encouraging their passion and supporting their journey toward athletic excellence. We empower national teams, clubs, coaches, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans to push their sport forward, help athletes achieve success, and learn the value of teamwork.
