Athletes to Watch: Sandi Morris

For several years, pole vaulter Sandi Morris was the runner-up – at U.S. Championships, World Championships, World Indoor Championships, and the 2016 Rio Olympics. In 2018 she won the world indoor title, and is solidly one of the top pole vaulters in the world.

Morris, who has a rock collection and a number of snakes as pets, and often dyes the ends of her hair colors like pink and blue, celebrated her world indoor title with a Five Guys burger and shake. She celebrated her second-place finish at the Diamond League Finals last year by getting engaged to Olympic long jumper Tyrone Smith, who was born in and competes for Bermuda but grew up in Chicago.
