We've secured $25 million in Series D financing
2014 has already been an incredible year for us. We were named a 2014 Best Company to Work For by Minnesota Business Magazine, picking up the bronze award for large companies. We’ve had more teams, leagues, clubs, associations and tournaments than ever use our products to manage their organizational operations. We nearly reached 200 employees, and are trending to have massive growth in games scored, accounts created and page views across the entire SportsEngine ecosystem. But in many ways, we’re just getting started.
We’re proud to announce today, that we’ve secured $25 million in financing through our Series D round. Our vision is to make SportsEngine products and the NGIN platform, the technology of choice for youth sports organizations across the globe. This new round of financing brings the capital and investor expertise to achieve that.
The round was led by new investors Piper Jaffray Merchant Banking and Causeway Media Partners, and included participation from existing investor ICON Venture Partners. This brings total capital invested in SportsEngine to $35 million since our founding in 2008.
With this fresh capital, we will continue to invest heavily in our SportsEngine product suite and the underlying NGIN platform which powers all of our amazing applications and websites. Additionally, to better service our customers, we’re also investing in our sales, service & marketing groups. This will continue our mission of providing the right mix of products and educational resources to make the admisitrative duties of our customers easier, giving them more time to focus on athletes.
“In just over 5 years, SportsEngine has become the largest technology provider dedicated to serving the needs of the multi-billion dollar youth and amateur sports market,” commented Justin Kaufenberg, SportsEngine Co-founder and CEO. “Hundreds of thousands of teams and millions of athletes, volunteers and fans across North America use the NGIN platform everyday. SportsEngine clients reduce the time they spend on management, administration and communication, allowing them to spend more time with athletes.”
As we continue to move through 2014, and in to the future, we’re honored that so many of you have chosen SportsEngine for your sports technology. Our promise to you is that we’ll work tirelessly to deliver technology that leaves you in awe.
