Premier League 101: Soccer Shooting Drills
Robbie Mustoe, a former Premier League midfielder, and Tim Howard, the former goalkeeper for the US Men's National team, share tips for shooting the soccer ball into the goal and saving the shot as a goalkeeper.
When shooting the ball, you typically have two options, curl the ball away from the goalkeeper or generate a powerful shot using your shoelaces to kick through the ball. To save a shot as a goalkeeper, bend your knees, keep your chest forward, and stay on the balls of your feet. Most importantly, practice these skills on your own! If you don't have a soccer goal, use a sweatshirt or another household object to represent goal posts, grab a teammate or friend and get to shooting goals and saving shots.
