The Windsor Water Rats eXpress (WWRX) swim team offers Windsor* youth ages 5 to 18 the opportunity to strengthen their individual swimming skills within a fun and supportive team environment. We work with swimmers of all ability levels, as long as the child is comfortable swimming 25 meters (one length of the pool) on his/her front and back.
WWRX offers year-round training at the indoor Windsor High School pool. Swimmers may participate in any or all of the following programs:
Winter Season (October to February): Train and compete in Central Connecticut Winter Swim League meets and championships
Spring Stroke Clinics (April to May): Participate in one-week clinics that focus on improving stroke technique and times in the freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and starts and turns
Summer Season (May to August): Train and compete in Central Connecticut Swim League meets and championships
Fall Stroke Clinics (September to October): Participate in one-week clinics that focus on improving stroke technique and times in the freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and starts and turns.
The WWRX swim team is a 100 percent volunteer-run organization led by an elected Board of Directors. The Board meets monthly to manage the administration of the team. We encourage parents to participate in Board meetings. An involved community makes a stronger WWRX team!
*Non-Windsor residents may be able to join the WWRX team if your hometown does not offer a competitive swim program, in accordance with Central Connecticut Swim League rules. Contact the WWRX Board if you need help determining if your child is eligible to join the team.
