SportsEngine, Inc., an NBC Sports Group company, will partner with USA Wrestling to promote participation in youth wrestling across the United States. The partnership is in celebration of the United World Wrestling Championships, which takes place October 20-28 in Budapest, Hungary. USA Wrestling, with more than 237,000 members, 4,500 chartered clubs, and 2,100 sanctioned competitions, will send 30 of its top athletes to Budapest in pursuit of individual and team world titles. Beginning on October 21, SportsEngine’s youth sports directory will dedicate its homepage to USA Wrestling, the national governing body for the sport of wrestling in the United States. The site will feature local wrestling programs from across the country and resources to help families find clubs in their area that are the right fit for their children who are interested in the sport.
“Popularity in youth wrestling continues to grow and we’re excited to bring greater awareness to local USA Wrestling Clubs across the country through this partnership with SportsEngine,” stated Tony Black, Director of State Services for USA Wrestling. “USA Wrestling’s mission is to provide quality opportunities for its members to achieve their full human and athletic potential. We believe USA Wrestling’s feature across SportsEngine.com will only enhance those opportunities.”
In the summer of 2017, SportsEngine launched the country’s largest youth sports directory now featuring over 110,000 youth sports programs and organizations. With this partnership, USA Wrestling is adding its entire list of affiliated organizations to SportsEngine and each USA Wrestling affiliated organization can add programs to be included in their listing. This will enable families to quickly and easily find wrestling programs in their area.
“We’re excited to partner with USA Wrestling to shine a brighter spotlight on the sport,” stated Travis Shives, SportsEngine Vice President of Sports. “By prominently featuring USA Wrestling on SportsEngine.com, coupled with the advertising horsepower of NBC Sports during the Wrestling World Championships, we see this as an opportunity to share wrestling with a larger audience and ultimately get more kids involved.”
At SportsEngine.com, parents and athletes can search by sport and geographic location to find a comprehensive list of youths sports organizations, programs, and events in their area. In addition to wrestling, over 70 sports are represented from across the US and Canada in the directory. Administrators may also access SportsEngine.com to claim their organization or event, enabling them to promote programs, collect registrations, and ensure their listing appears in search results.
