SportsEngine Inc., an NBC Sports Group company and the leading youth sports technology provider, is partnering with Chanhassen, Minnesota-based Life Time on the Grand Opening of their new concept, Life Time Sport, at Winter Park in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, the former Minnesota Vikings practice facility.

The idea behind Life Time Sport is to offer a flexible alternative to organized team play with schedules and formats that make it stress-free for parents to drop off their kids when it works for them. Kids will take part in 10 minute scrimmages in a no-pressure, fun environment, supervised by certified coach referees who will guide and motivate players during pick-up play. Players will be divided by age and ability, playing on smaller, short-sided fields for more touches on the ball. The program is available for both members and non-members. During the week of October 24 - October 31, SportsEngine is sponsoring Life Time Sport’s Grand Opening by helping to spread the word about this new family-friendly concept to its community of youth athletes, coaches and families. As part of the Grand Opening, Life Time is inviting people of all ages to visit their new facility and play for free all week. “We are extremely proud to sponsor the Grand Opening of Life Time Sport.” said Jenna Soule, Director of Integrated Marketing and Communications, SportsEngine. “At SportsEngine, our core purpose is to further the love of ‘sport’ and help facilitate the youth sports experience. We believe in and support wholeheartedly the concept of Life Time Sport that enables today’s kids to play sports simply for the love of it.”

More than 1 million teams, leagues and clubs use SportsEngine to run their website, tournaments, leagues, online registration and mobile apps. Through these applications, sports teams, clubs and leagues are able to drastically reduce the time they spend on administration and communication, allowing them to focus more time on their athletes.

“We are excited to have SportsEngine as a sponsor of our Grand Opening Week,” said Stephanie Hu, Vice President of New Business Development and Life Time Sport at Life Time. “When you find a partner whose vision aligns so closely to your own, it’s an exciting opportunity to work together on projects like this one.”
