Kristin Weingarden is a Senior Account Manager at NBC Sports Next working on the GoMotion product. She is based in Los Angeles, CA. Kristin has been with NBC Sports Next, originally Sport Ngin, since March 2014–happy 9th anniversary Kristin!
Before coming to NBC Sports Next, Kristin was a Minnesota Vikings' season ticket sales representative. Kristin has always been involved in sports as an athlete and a coach. So, working for the Vikings was a natural fit. Over time though, she wanted to do something more fulfilling in the world of sports. That's when she heard about Sport Ngin. Kristin has always been interested in how technology can be used to help improve the lives of coaches and athletes. "I'd been a coach and athlete for years," said Kristin, "but working at NBC Sports Next gave me the opportunity to interact with coaches and teams in a new, unique way."
Kristin also shared one of the reasons that she loves NBC Sports Next. "Even after nine years, I love how passionate my coworkers are for sports. Whether that's supporting a youth sports organization as a volunteer, coaching, refereeing a local tournament, or getting out on the ice for a little pond hockey, everyone is involved in sports one way or another."
A typical day for Kristin starts out early. Being on the west coast and servicing clients throughout the United States and Canada, means she's become an early riser. After that first cup of coffee, which unfortunately is no longer a Caribou Coffee, she usually runs. A quick shower and she then starts her day working with GoMotion clients and prospects, helping them get the most out of their tools.
When we asked Kristin to describe herself, she tossed the ball to her husband, Nate, a professional improv comedian. He came back with this on-point haiku to describe her:
I coach gymnastics
I am a crazy cat lady
yoga is boring
She did, however, share a few surprising and not surprising tidbits about herself:
- I recently moved to LA to support my husband's career in 'the industry'
- I was a college gymnast (and Tennis Player) at Hamline University
- I am training from Boston Marathon 2023 (I have already completed 11 marathons)
- My favorite TV shows are Friends and the West Wing
- I could eat tacos every day
