Jenn Heinrich's passion for her work displayed in No. 1-ranked Rugby Oregon site

Webmaster of the Week: May 11-17

NAME:
Jenn Heinrich

SITE:
Rugby Oregon

POSITION:
President/CEO/Webmaster

BACKGROUND:
Heinrich grew up on the East Coast playing soccer, attended Vanderbilt University and never could have imagined running a West Coast rugby organization. “I told them I would do it for about a year,” Heinrich said about her initial hiring as Portland-based Rugby Oregon’s director. “Here I am 13 years later completely in love with what I do.” Heinrich’s husband, Eric, is a rugby player and the couple’s son, Luke, an eighth-grader, was recently part of a state championship Rugby Oregon team. The Heinrich’s daughter, Morgan, is a high school sophomore and standout soccer player.

WHAT SHE DOES:
As president and CEO, Heinrich oversees all aspects of the organization, including the website. She made all the design and content structure decisions when Rugby Oregon switched to the Sport Ngin platform two years ago. She asked that custom graphics be added to the top of several pages, a design feature she had seen on the USA Rugby site. She set up most of the site’s pages and used tabs on several pages to organize information. She regularly loads events into the site’s calendar and updates schedules and results. The site's Donors page lists the different donor levels -- from Eagle at $25 to $99 to Benefactor Club at $10,000-plus -- and who has contributed at each level. Heinrich's attention to detail and eye for design are a big reason why Rugby Oregon was ranked No. 1 in Sport Ngin's rugby site rankings.

MAKING HER MARK:
The 2015 Great Northwest Challenge page has a woodsy, green background – different than the site’s background elsewhere -- that matches the color scheme of the event’s logo.
