The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Buffalo Bills 20-6 in the American Bowl exhibition game at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on Aug. 7, 1993. The more than 67,000 fans who attended the game were also treated to pop concerts, parachutists and fireworks at the event. It was the largest crowd to see a game in Berlin since the NFL began playing there in 1989.

In his just second game as a Viking, Jim McMahon completed 7 of 9 passes, while teammate Charles Evans rushed for a game-high 78 yards en route to being named the game’s MVP. The Vikings built a 17-0 halftime lead over the defending AFC champion Bills by taking advantage of good field position and two turnovers.
