On Sunday, March 10, 2019, the North Georgia Ambush Baseball team will host the inaugural “Win for the Warriors” baseball tournament, benefiting the For The Warriors Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist disabled military service members as they integrate back into society and attempt to live a rewarding, fulfilling, and productive life. “We've all developed many friendships out of this, so this is going to continue past the baseball tournament,” Samuel Walley said. Walley, who will throw out the first pitch on Sunday, was part of the 82nd airborne infantry in the U.S. Army. “It was June 6, 2012, about 10 in the morning,” he said. “I was hit by a remote-controlled IED off to the right of me resulting in the loss of my right leg above the knee. My left arm was chopped off by a piece of shrapnel just below the elbow.”
